Palabras clave: teoría de la educación cultural, formas superiores de conducta y desarrollo, desarrollo cultural THEORY OF CULTURAL EDUCATION: DEVELOPMENT OF THE HIGHER PSYCHIC FUNCTIONS OF BEHAVIOUR, POSSIBLE CONNECTIONS WITH CHILD DEVELOPMENT Abstract The following article comprises different issues related to the development of the higher psychic functions of behaviour, given that these constitute an area of Psychology and may be important to comprehend and explain the stages of personality of a child. Also, some observations are introduced as to which might be the possible connections between the higher forms of behaviour and the theory of cultural education on child development. It is understood that the new approach to the theory of cultural education involves abandoning an old concept of education, where the aim was to adapt the education to the developing process and follow the guidance of the very own deadlines, rhythm and thought forms of the child himself. Based on certain highlights concerning the higher psychic functions, this brand new look to education is analysed, taking into consideration those relations that may be associated with the forms of behaviour that are needed to make the education possible, and therefore, may be educated. Finally, a reflective insight about the relations established between the mentioned concepts and the rol of the new theory of cultural education is presented, regarding the higher forms of behaviour and being in consistency with the orientation question of this work: how does the theory of cultural education relates to the education of the higher psychic functions of behaviour and what are the possible connections to be drawn in regards to child development?
